NwSSU-COED Faculty Wins Best Paper in IPOVCON 22

Mr. Rene John B. Escal from the Northwest Samar State University-College of Education won the coveted Best Paper award for track 3 in the 3rd International and 6th National Conference on Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development hosted by Samar State University last September 21-23 [22] with the theme, “Convergence of Borderless Opportunities to End Poverty”.

With his paper titled, “Biri-Larosa Protected Land and Seascape Conservation Practices: Impacts, Successes, and Challenges”, the young researcher reiterates the call for environmental protection through various conservation efforts as part of every human being’s social responsibility.

In his Facebook account, Mr. Escal thanked the people who have helped him get his way to such high-priced victory. He believes that, “Biodiversity must succeed to eradicate poverty incidence in local communities.”

The annual international poverty conference dubbed as IPOVCON gathers researchers all around the country and abroad to discuss global and national economic challenges and present useful evidence of best practices made through research.
