ABOUT THE OFFICE
The Office of Innovation is directed at developing new technologies. It seeks to harness available global knowledge and technologies that support the development of new and/or improved products, systems, processes, policies, or services to increase productivity and promote overall welfare.
Innovation & Technology Support Office (ITSO)
In recent years, IPOPHL has developed a network of 77 ITSOs composed of higher education and research development institutions. This program seeks to foster the creation of intellectual property (IP) in the academe and research sectors, particularly in invention and utility models, to increase the national innovative output and to promote the presence of Filipino inventions in the international patent system.
Likewise, it is set up to strengthen support for our Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as the ITSOs extend technical assistance to MSMEs and local inventors regarding trademark and patent searches and the drafting of patent, utility model, and industrial design documents.
OBJECTIVES:
- To boost the University’s innovation strategies and sustain cohesive innovation programs.
- To create, protect, promote, and utilize Intellectual Property (IP).
- To provide the incubation, and business support to creative science and technology entrepreneurs.
