Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) has taken a significant leap forward in expanding its academic network through a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) on March 6, 2025. This strategic partnership is poised to revolutionize academic collaboration, driving innovation and excellence in research, curriculum development, and faculty advancement.

NwSSU President Dr. Benjamin L. Pecayo signed the MOU alongside TUP officials, with key NwSSU representatives in attendance, including Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ramil S. Catamora and Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Rhio C. Dimakiling. College deans Dr. Donald M. Patimo, Dr. Armando Alviola Jr., Dr. Jannel C. Alviola, Engr. Ignacio G. Tocayon Jr., Dr. Bianca Genel B. Bedio, Dr. Rosalia L. Briones, Dr. Francisco B. Bacamante Jr., Dr. Getulio Barcenas Jr., NwSSU San Jorge Campus Dean, and Mr. Redem D. Tingzon, ETEEAP Director also witnessed the historic signing.

The MOU outlines a comprehensive framework for joint initiatives aimed at enhancing academic programs, fostering student and faculty exchanges, and supporting institutional capacity-building and research partnerships between the two institutions. This agreement marks a significant milestone in NwSSU’s ongoing efforts to expand its academic and research collaborations, further solidifying its commitment to academic excellence and industry-relevant education.
