NwSSU Student’s Choice Awards for Radio and Television received

With the theme, “NSCART Revive: Students Support for Innovative and Virtual Practices of the New Normal”, the BS Business Administration students of Northwest Samar State University held the 12th NSCART at RSU- Sociocultural Center, April 14. “Great things never come from our comfort zone and I know that our awardees…go out from this and explore to become what they are today… I hope that through this event, we were able to acknowledge your great contribution in media”, Dr. Benjamin L. Pecayo, University President remarked during his welcome message. The NSCART acknowledges personalities and media practitioners who excelled on different categories based from students’ votes. The survey and awards were painstakingly administered and prepared for 6 months. The following is the list of awardees of the recently concluded event.

Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) Presidents’ Summit at Sequoia Hotel, Manila

NwSSU delegation headed by the University President- Dr. Benjamin L. Pecayo attends this year’s Presidents’ Summit which will recognize and award the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) members who have purposefully fulfilled the ITSO 2.0 Clustering deliverables for 2022. Additionally, the occasion is an opportunity to display shared accomplishments with the ITSO network and highlight new opportunities in delivering good harvests of creative and solution-value products from their sustained research and innovation efforts, thereby satisfying the expectations of the ITSO 2.0 Clustering Scheme. NwSSU along with other HEIs also inked a MOA with IPOPHIL for ITSO Franchise.

Stakeholders’ Forum for Industry Dev’t transpires

Committed to provide quality research, extension, and production, NwSSU through the Office of Research and Development Services conducted a stakeholders’ meeting to impart its research outputs to as many beneficiaries as possible last March 6, 2023 at Business Development Center, NwSSU Main Campus. Attended by representatives from various local agencies, institutions, and sectors, the event also served as an avenue in the conduct of rapid needs assessment, alignment of research thrusts and priorities on a local level, and creation of collaborations that will produce remarkable results. In his message, University President Benjamin L. Pecayo said that as part of realizing the national development plan, research endeavors should be focused on addressing the problems in the development of all sectors. “We will be here, we will listen, and we will collaborate through research for the development of our society and our country.” Research coordinators from the colleges presented their research programs and expressed their availability for collaborations with the stakeholders.

NwSSU, LGU Almagro sign MOA in Services Ties

Last February 26, 2023, NwSSU represented by University President Dr. Benjamin L. Pecayo and the Local Government of Almagro, Samar represented by Mayor Amelia P. Cano signed the Memorandum of Agreement to formally secure the partnership in conducting programs and activities geared towards a more enhanced delivery of services to the constituents of the Municipality of Almagro. The partnership will enable NwSSU to conduct Research, Extension, Instruction, and production related programs and activities, provide experts who will serve as speakers, facilitators, logistical, and support services in such undertakings. Establishing linkages and partnerships is among the main thrusts of the University in order to effectively facilitate its core functions of research, extension, instruction, and production thus helping improve and uplift the lives of the University’s service areas.
