On October 3, 2024, the City Health Office of Calbayog City hosted an STI/HIV and AIDS Forum held at the Calbayog Convention Center, as part of the upcoming Charter Day celebration on October 16th.
The forum aimed to raise community awareness about these critical public health issues and highlight the importance of Republic Act 11166, also known as the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act. It also emphasized the upholding of rights of individuals affected by HIV and AIDS.
The forum gathered participants from NwSSU and other city institutions. The City Health Office hopes that this forum will empower participants to become active advocates for HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. By promoting education and understanding, the city aims to create a more supportive and inclusive environment for individuals living with HIV and AIDS.
