TACLOBAN CITY, January 27 – Northwest Samar State University (NWSSU) officials received positive feedback from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office regarding the university’s efforts to secure a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for its Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) program. A delegation from NWSSU’s College of Education, led by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ramil S. Catamora, met with CHED officials to present updates on the program’s compliance status. The team included SAS Director Dr. Myra L. Pilpa, Dean of the College of Education Dr. Jannel C. Alviola, and BTLED Program Chair Mrs. Christy B. De Veyra. The visit yielded an encouraging response from CHED officials, marking a critical milestone in the program’s journey toward compliance. CHED officials acknowledged the university’s progress in addressing gaps in program administration and provided positive feedback on the program’s compliance status. The COPC is a crucial certification that ensures higher education institutions meet CHED’s standards for quality education in specific degree programs. Once granted, the certification will solidify the BTLED program’s standing as a CHED-compliant course, boosting its credibility and aligning it with CHED’s quality assurance framework. NWSSU remains optimistic as it awaits CHED’s final evaluation and issuance of the COPC.
