Bachelor of science in community development
       The Bachelor of Science in Community Development plays a crucial role in developing rural and urban communities. The program requires a keen understanding and analysis of the community profile using appropriate environmental scanning techniques to cover all key areas of development.Â
    The program showcases development theories, processes, and practices so that the students can appreciate their implications and application to community development. Furthermore, this program will help students conceptualize development platforms as they engage in community development partnerships with the government and non-government agencies in the local, regional, national, and international development agenda.Â
PROGRAM GOALS AND DEGREE OUTCOMES
     The BS in Community Development program aims to provide decision-making skills, resource management capability, and positive students with the knowledge, analytical/ attitudes needed to conduct studies/ researches in community development; and enables them to become critically adept with theoretical and practical initiative in resolving development problems and issues.
     The graduates of the program are expected to exhibit the following learning outcomes:
- 1. Understand the basic concepts, principles, methods strategies in community development.
- 2. Relate the implication of the comprehensive community profile to community development planning, governance and administration in addressing agricultural and rural development issues, problems and needs.
- 3. Apply the dynamic of participatory approach in the formulation of schematic diagram showing the cause and effect of problems / issues identified and the needs of the community and/ or organizations and prioritization of options.
- 4. Adapt bottom-up conceptualization of community/demand -driven programs/projects.
- 5. Formulate development plans involving concerned stakeholders in community.
- 6. Organize standing technical working committees for M & E using standard M & E instrument.
- 7. Serve as a reflective group and in synergy team environment adapting appropriate leadership style.
- 8. Plan, organize, mobilize, and facilitate stakeholders for strategic development planning process, empowerment capability building, and technology transfer for entrepreneurial and/or social enterprise development.
- 9. Foster operational agreements as result of social networking, stakeholder negotiations and developmental advocacy work for possible technical and financial access.
- 10. Recognize and manifest objective decision making with respect to legal, social, ethical and professional approaches in dealing socio-economic, gender, environment and political issues and problems.
- 11. Recognize the need and have the ability to engage in collaborative learning process for sustainable development as a development manager.
CAREER PATHWAYS
   Graduates of BS in Community Development may employed as community development officer, project development officer, community organizer, project manager in a government and non-government organization, development planner, consultant, project development officer, training officer, social researcher, child welfare officer, community education coordinator, economic development director, or a social services administrator, rural and urban development planner.

The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) awarded the program with a Level II Re-accredited status.
