The LEGAL UNIT of the University serves as the primary legal arm of the institution, ensuring that its policies, programs, and actions consistent with existing laws, rules, and regulations.
It provides legal advice and opinions to university officials, reviews and drafts contracts and agreement, may represent the University in judicial, quasi-judicial, and administrative proceedings, and assists in resolving internal disputes and disciplinary cases.
Through these functions, the Legal Services Unit strengthens institutional integrity, minimizes legal risks, and promotes a culture of compliance and accountability. It serves as a vital partner in advancing the University’s mandate of instruction, research, and extension, by translating legal principles into practical guidance for effective governance and operations.
