The first National Peace Convention organized by the Volunteer Individuals for Peace, a non-government organization promoting peace and non-violence chaired by CHED Commissioner Dr. Ronald L. Adamat was held last January 25, 2023 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). The event which had the theme “Peace Builds One Nation, One Future – Peace is Here” was attended by over 1,500 participants from different sectors. The NwSSU delegation was led by University President Benjamin L. Pecayo.
In partnership with Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) and through the leadership of its chairman Lee Man-Hee, the convention produced a resolution for the declaration of a National Peace Day which will be presented to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr
