May 16, 2024—The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) conducted the Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) Caravan, which took place at the RSU-Socio Cultural Center in Northwest Samar State University. This event aimed to introduce and discuss the scholarship program provided by the DOST-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) for priority Science and Technology (S&T) courses. It also intended to provide important information and support to students aspiring to become scholars.

Dr. Evelyn Bacarra-Tablante, Provincial Science and Technology Director, and Engr. Philip John Condes led the said event. They provided a detailed overview of the JLSS program, highlighting the benefits and requirements of the scholarships. These scholarships are specifically designed to assist students pursuing careers in science and technology.

The caravan was attended by second-year regular students enrolled in DOST-SEI priority S&T courses for the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024. This initiative by DOST served as an excellent platform for these students to learn about the available scholarship opportunities.
