October 17, 2024 – Northwest Samar State University conducted an orientation for new grantees of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) program, which supports the cost of tertiary education for priority students across various institutions. The event aimed to familiarize students with the program’s benefits and application process, ensuring they understand the resources available to them.

Led by CHED UNIFAST representatives Ms. Rhea Mae Baillo (Project Technical Staff II), and Ms. Kirstin Marjie Casillano and Ms. Ginny Quimada (both Project Technical Staff I), the orientation highlighted eligibility criteria and the importance of education as a tool for empowerment.

By equipping students with essential knowledge, the initiative not only enhances individual academic experiences but also strengthens the university’s commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment, ultimately improving retention rates and overall academic performance.
