Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) celebrated an Institutional Christmas Party with a theme “Christmas Candy Land: A Magical Children’s Holiday Party,” at the RSU Socio-Cultural Center on December 19, 2025, attended by the university’s teaching and non-teaching personnel. The party was organized to bring the NwSSU family together in celebration of the Christmas holiday season, fostering camaraderie and spreading joy through theme-based activities that mirrored and captured the innocence and sweetness of childhood.
The event kicked off with a vibrant Grand Entrance where all attendees paraded in colorful, candy-inspired attires that brought the theme to life. Dr. Benjamin L. Pecayo, University President, set the venue with a warm tone of his welcome message, officially opening the celebrations, while Dr. Riz Rupert L. Ortiz, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, followed with heartfelt remarks and acknowledgments to honor the hard work of the university’s personnel throughout the year.
Attendees indulged in a party filled with fun and excitement, from Carnival Game Time that brought out everyone’s spirit to a delightful dinner shared among colleagues. The highlight of the party included a Fashion Ramp and Talent Showcase where participants showcased their creativity, followed by a Live Band performance and Open Dance for all, plus a Grand Raffle Draw led by Dr. Rhio S. Dimakiling, Vice President for Administration and Finance.
The celebration wrapped up with a closing message from Dr. Ramil S. Catamora, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the importance of coming together as a family during the holidays. As the event came to a close, joyful and cherished memories filled everyone’s hearts, leaving a renewed sense of unity and excitement for the year ahead.
