CALBAYOG CITY, Samar — Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Provincial Training Center–Samar (TESDA PTC-Samar) signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on October 21, 2026 to bring TESDA programs and services closer to the NwSSU community. This partnership opens opportunities for students, graduates, faculty, and personnel to access skills training, competency assessment, national certification, scholarships, and employment-related programs.

Under the agreement, NwSSU will make its facilities, laboratories, equipment, and training venues available for TESDA-approved training, assessment, and certification activities. The university will also help connect qualified students, graduates, faculty, and personnel to TESDA programs and services.

TESDA PTC-Samar, for its part, will provide technical assistance, competency assessment, national certification, and capability-building programs. Qualified students and beneficiaries may be considered for TESDA scholarships, while graduates may avail of career development initiatives, industry linkages, job referrals, and other employment facilitation services.

The two institutions will also collaborate on identifying opportunities for skills development, research, extension, and innovation. They will hold regular coordination meetings to ensure that their programs respond to community needs.
