Palo, Leyte – April 12, 2025 — Northwest Samar State University-Calbayog was awarded a Plaque of Commendation by the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) for placing 2nd among top-performing criminology schools in Region VIII (Category C) during the February 2025 Criminologist Licensure Exam, with an outstanding 86.96% passing rate.
Dr. Armando Alviola, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice and Sciences, together with Mr. Edwin Irene, proudly accepted the award on behalf of the university during the ceremony held at the Leyte Academic Center.
The award was presented by PCAP Region 8 Governor Dr. Eleazar S. Balbada and PCAP President Dr. Gerry J. Cano, and sponsored by JRC Review Center – Jaguars.
This recognition highlights NwSSU-Calbayog’s continued commitment to academic excellence in criminology education.
